Mallam Haruna Abba, an official driver attached to the Borno State governor Kashim Shettima is dead, Daily Correspondents has learned.
He died after a brief illness.
A source at the Borno government house said Abba died on Thursday evening in Biu local government area of the state.
The source said Abba has been battling with an unknown illness for which he successfully undergone a surgery in India around 2015.
He will be buried on Friday shortly after the Muslims Jummat prayers.
Many aides of Governor Shettima have taken to the social media to pay their tributes.
