Former governor of Borno State and APC chieftain, Ali Modu Sherriff, is secretly meeting with aspirants and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Borno State, in what a competent source described as a “purely anti-party gathering” ahead of the 2019 elections, Daily Correspondents can authoritatively report.
The meeting is currently taking place at the former governor’s residence behind the Government House in Maiduguri, a competent source familiar with the meeting told this newspaper on Monday afternoon.
Those meeting with Sheriff are the Borno State PDP governorship aspirant, Mohammed Imam, the PDP factional leader in the state, Zannah Gaddama and House of Reps candidate for Maiduguri Metropolis, Abdulsalam Kachallah.
Both Imam and Gaddama are former errand boys of Senator Sherriff.
The source said, the meeting is more of an anti-party activity as Sheriff has vowed to work against the APC in Borno State after losing grip of the party machinery and not able to field a single candidate during the last primary elections.
