Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, will on Tuesday visit Maiduguri to commission a world class housing estate that will accommodate teachers to be employed for the mega primary schools which were built by Governor Kashim Shettima and commissioned by President Muhammad Buhari recently.
The Estate, located on Damboa Road was formerly CBN staff quarters which the Borno state government acquired and transformed into a beautiful living estate.
A Facebook post by Shettima’s aide on New Media, Ahmed Ishaq Ningi, said the estate to be known as Usman Gaji Galtimari Estate, also has a primary school with 24 classrooms named after the late Professor Muhammed Nur Alkali.
“The estate also has a functional water system and a 24-hour security cover for occupants, among other facilities,” Ningi said.
“There are a total of 156 flats consisting of 2 bedroom of 6 blocks of 12 flats each, 3 bedrooms of 5 blocks of 12 flats each, 3 bedroom terraces of 12 flats and two room BQ for each of the terraces. In Borno, a primary school teacher is beginning to be treated as a king,” the statement further said.
