The Executive Director of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, CISLAC, Musa, popularly known as Rafsanjani has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari for including some politicians who were alleged to be corrupt in his 43-man ministerial nominees being screened by the Senate.

Speaking at Campus Journalism Dialogue, organised by Campus Digest, a Non Governmental Organization, NGO, held in Bayero University Kano on Saturday, Mr Rafsanjani, accused the president of nominating the people alleged to have looted Nigeria’s treasury.

Rafsanjani, according to DAILY NIGERIAN,  wondered why Buhari, who was considered to be a man of integrity would appoint such people to be members of his cabinet.

“These are the people who looted Nigeria’s treasury.

“They kill our education because they can sponsor their children to study abroad.

“They destroyed our health sector, but the man of integrity has nominated them to form his cabinet.

“That means we are moving backward in the fight against corruption.

“Indeed, the man of integrity has institutionalized corruption in this country, ” he said.

Rafsanjani, who was the Acting General-Secretary of West Africa Civil Society Forum, WACSOF, therefore called on the media, Civil Society Organizations, CSOs and students to rise against corruption and impunity in the country.

“I call on you to rise against any sentiment, fight and condemn any act capable of institutionalizing corruption in Nigeria, ” he said.
