Two students of the University of Maiduguri were among the dozens of people killed on Auno-Jakana road by Boko Haram and the inferno ignited by a military petrol tanker stranded among other motorists on Sunday night.

One of the students was identified as Fatima, while the other was identified as Mama Gana Kachallah, a student of Mass Communication. Both were burned alive by the inferno.

Mama Gana’s uncle, Mohammed Bashir Shuwa, an aide to former Governor Kashim Shettima, issued an obituary notice about her death on Monday.

“Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un, I lost my niece Mama Gana who was burnt to ashes by Boko Haram around Auno Jakana axis.

“She was the daughter of my younger brother Staff Seargent Babagana Kachallah. Until her death she was a student of Mass Communication at the University of Maiduguri.

“May Almighty Allah forgive her and make Aljanna Firdaus her final resting place.
