Fire Outbreak: Dambazau leads FG delegation to sympathise with Kebbi gov’t

A high-powered Federal Government delegation has paid a sympathy visit to Kebbi State over the fire outbreak that destroyed a portion of the New Central Market in Birnin-Kebbi recently, Daily Correspondents report.

The delegation was led by the Minister of Interior, Rt. Lt. Gen. Abdurahman Bello Danbazau to convey the deep sympathy of President Muhammadu Buhari to the Government and people of Kebbi State.

The delegation’s first port of call was a visit to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu at the government house.

Dambazau, while assuring the Kebbi State government on the possible assistance and support of victims by the Federal Government, also prayed that God should prevent a future reoccurrence of the unfortunate incidence and reward the victims with compassion.

Governor Bagudu and other State Government officials thereafter accompanied Minister Dambazau and the delegation to the market to inspect and commiserate with the traders.

Governor Bagudu informed the Minister on the progress of the committee that had been set up by the Kebbi State Government to provide immediate relief measures and restore trading activities at the market. He also discussed preventative measures for the future.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed his appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for his empathy and concern towards the people of Kebbi.

He also commiserated with the people of Kano State again over the unfortunate fire incidence that occurred at the same time with the Birnin-Kebbi Market fire.

The Minister had mentioned earlier on in the meeting that the delegation had arrived Kebbi from Kano after a sympathy visit to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
